two-and-a-half day program on all aspects of prosthodontics.
Speakers at this year’s program include many internationally
recognized prosthodontists with career emphasis in private
practice and academics.
The John F. Johnston Society was established to promulgate
the high ideals of Dr. John F. Johnston in the learning,
teaching and practicing of fixed and removable
prosthodontics. Although membership in the society is limited
to those who have completed or are enrolled in the graduate
program in the Department of Prosthodontics at Indiana
University School of Dentistry or are faculty responsible for
the teaching of that program, attendance at the refresher
courses sponsored by the Society is open to any interested
practitioner.
In addition to sponsoring activities that promote the
dissemination of new knowledge in the field, the Society
awards scholarships on an annually recurring basis to
graduate students enrolled in the advanced prosthodontics
program at the School of Dentistry.
Specifically, the John F. Johnston Scholarship, the I. Lester
Furnas Award, the Carl J. and Ida A. Andres Scholarship
Award, and other awards as determined by the executive
council are given to graduate students in recognition of
outstanding performance.
