From The President
Billy Davis

Well folks, it is coming to the end of another year. I hope it has been a good one for you. It is that time when we review the year and think about how we ourselves are doing in the grand scheme of things… It was great to have had the opportunity to get back to Indiana for the CE Course and enjoy the presentations of our peers and the good fellowship that went with it. A big “Thank You”, again to all, for making the CE meeting such a great success. If you unfortunately missed it we will be looking forward to catching up with you in Chicago.

Further to my last missive, I am delighted to report that the Irish weather did in fact improve and we had a great late summer and autumn, which was great for the golf, even if the quality of the golf did not always match the weather.

The times, they are a changing and so it behooves us all to keep up to date with what is happening and what better way than to spend a few days in the Windy City with friends and colleagues and attend the Dental Meetings. I look forward to seeing you there!

Director's Corner
John Levon

Time has flown by so quickly since I assumed the Director’s position on July 1, 2007. When Marge inquired about my director’s Message for this month’s JFJ Newsletter, I could hardly believe that five months have already passed by. The job has been both demanding and stressful. The stress is coming mainly from a self-imposed fear of following in the giant footsteps of such outstanding and dynamic Directors from the past (Johnston, Dykema, Goodacre, and Andres). The last three gentlemen have played a big part in my prosthodontic education and I owe each of them so much. To fail in my mission is not an option.

My goal is to continue to keep the Indiana Graduate Prosthodontic Program at the top of the heap. This will require hard work and the dedication of me,my prosthodontic residents, my prosthodontic faculty, and staff. Each one of you can also help with your prayers and donations.

The equipment in the Dykema Graduate Prosthodontics Laboratory will have to be updated and replaced in the very near future. We will most likely lose three faculty members over the next six months and my residents are pleading for more chair side help. In order to attract top-notch residents, the previously mentioned items need to be addressed and addressed quickly! This will take financial support, which unfortunately the School has very little to hand out.

As each day passes, things are becoming a bit easier for me. I can report that we have verbal commitments to fill next year’s class, one that on paper could be one of the strongest in our cherished history. In closing, I want to extend my best wishes to every one of you and I hope you all have a tremendous holiday season.

From Marge

So many people have told me they love reading about the members and their families. That is what makes the newsletter interesting and not just “business informative”. Yet, lately, no one has sent me any information about what they are doing and what their families are doing. I can’t print what I don’t have! Please, don’t be embarrassed, and let us know what is going on in your life.

Be sure and let me know when you retire. You don’t have to pay dues after you are retired.

Have a Safe Holiday and a Happy New Year!
